Salt Brine Broken Down.

Salt brine is a mixture of salt, water, and a non-corrosive additive that is applied to the pavement as a pre-treatment, up to five days before a snowstorm. The solution is in liquid form and is sprayed on the ground, by a salt brining truck. This process helps to keep the snow from bonding to the pavement, therefore it minimizes the ice and snow build up, and decreases the amount of salt needed to be used post storm. In addition to the salt brine, we use a chemical additive to enhance the brine and ensure the effectiveness in even the coldest temperatures.

•There are two options, the first option is an automatic option, where the flow rate is combined with GPS based tracking, used to determine the speed of the spraying. The second option is a manual option, which allows the speed of the flow rate to be determined by the driver and this option is more beneficial for tighter areas.
